The Lee Avenue Library is open to students throughout the day and allows children to take out books and magazines on a regular basis. The Library is an extension of the school's Language Arts Program and classes are scheduled for a Library period each week in order to enhance literacy and research skills while fostering an appreciation of literature. Mrs. Bertolini, our Librarian, also utilizes videostreaming and videoconferencing to broaden students' understanding of topics that are being studied in the classrooms.
The Lee Avenue Library has a wide selection of high interest books and magazines and students are encouraged to find materials that are of interest to them. Students are also taught how to locate resources in the Library in order to develop their research and study skills. Students also develop their reading and writing skills by listening to stories and writing reactions to the works of award winning authors and illustrators.
