Burns Avenue
The Student Council is an organization that is an important part of Burns Avenue School. Student Council representatives inform the students about upcoming activities and events. The Student Council also raises money for charitable organizations and helps its members learn the importance of community service.
This year, the Student Council is helping an organization called Long Island Cares as part of its participation in Newsday's Future Corps Program. Long Island Cares. Inc. is dedicated to helping our neighbors receive nutritious meals, raise healthy families and enjoy the basic essentials of life. These essentials build confidence and help individuals grow into strong hardworking citizens within each Long Island community. In addition, the Student Council plans fun activities for the students of Burns Avenue. In the past, they have sponsored Crazy Hat Day, Mismatch Day, Pajama Day, and more. This year, members are planning the special events that will take place during School Spirit Month in March.
