The RISE Program

 

Students in grades 3-5 are selected to participate in RISE according to established criteria which include performance on the Measures of Academic Progress district assessment, class performance and teacher nomination. The program is conducted by the Library-Media Specialists through a pull-out program which takes place in the building Library-Media Center. Students are scheduled for three 40 minute sessions of RISE each week. These classes are scheduled by grade making every effort to minimize the disruption of each student’s overall academic program.
 
The RISE students in grades 3 and 4 are studying and will be creating folktales.  Ths RISE students in grade 5 are researching the Civil Rights Movement.
 
The RISE program is aligned with the Common Core State Standards.
