The Board of Education, Administration and Teachers believe the personal safety of our children is an important school goal. Students learn about personal safety through course work, assemblies and special programs. Our teachers review safety procedures with the children and periodically remind students of the importance of safety.
To further assist communities regarding the safety of children the United States Congress has passed The Sex Offenders Registration Act of 1996 requiring states to implement registries of sex offenders and crimes against children. The Registry requires sex offenders to register and then provides this information to law enforcement and the public.
In order to provide additional information to the public regarding safety the link listed below for the Division of Criminal Justice Services provides local information regarding the Sex Offender Registry for public safety. The information found at the link for the Division of Criminal Justice Services Subdirectory must be used responsibly. Anyone who uses this information to harass or commit a criminal act against any person may be subject to criminal prosecution.
School personnel are notified of registrants within the area and are instructed to report immediately if seen near school property. It is our goal to continue to work together to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all children.
