The Guidance Department hosted a successful Career Fair on April 8th.
The 8th grade Orchestra and Band and the Select 7th and 8th grade Chorus participated in the District Concerts on March 18, 19th, and 21st.

The Hicksville Middle School Mock Trial Team attended the Long Island Mock Trial Competition held at Dowling College on Friday March 7, 2014.
The Hicksville Middle School Drama Club presented the musical,"Once Upon a Mattress", for three performances on March 20-22nd.
The Hicksville Middle School Science Olympiad team competed in the New York State Western Long Island Regional Competition on Saturday February 8th, 2014.
This year the Valentine’s Day Dance combined another traditional middle school dance, the Twins Dance to create the ValenTwins Dance, which was held on Friday, February 7th.
On February 4th, the Middle School Student Council officers had the opportunity to visit and volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island located in New Hyde Park.
On Friday, January 31st, officers and members of students Council along with their advisor, Ms. Fitzpatrick presented Island Harvest with a check for $1000.

On January 6th, students in grades six through eight attended Stop Then Send assemblies that were presented by two assistant district attorneys.
This year, twenty middle school students entered the Patriot Pen essay contest. The competition was sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Each year students have the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of geography in the National Geography Bee.
On Monday, November 25, 2013, all middle school English teachers conducted an in-class Spelling Bee. A winner from each class was selected to go on to the next round after correctly spelling the “Championship Word”.
