Information for Parents

Recognizing that parent and community involvement is critical in the creation of excellent schools, Hicksville Public Schools continually encourages parent participation in their children's education at all levels through a variety of organizations and support groups, events, activities, workshops and services. We welcome participation in the district's Board of Education Meetings, including the annual budget process and budget vote, in our schools' Parent Teacher Association, in Parent-Teacher Conferences, in Parent Center workshops and various Curriculum and Guidance presentations during the school year, in Back to School Nights and Elementary Expos, and through use of our new Parent Connect communication system which is accessible from this website page.

Hicksville Public Schools utilizes SASI, a student information system which allows teachers to record grades from their desktop computers. SASI also enables teachers to automate the report card process and to post K - 12 grades and attendance to Parent Connect.

Parent Connect is a school-to-home communication tool which allows parents to keep track of their child's academic progress and attendance online via an easy to use website. Parents may visit the password-protected site to view their child's grades and attendance.
