Twenty-five Fifth Grade students participated in the Little Doctors Program, which was run in conjunction with the Blood Drive that occurred in Burns Avenue on Tuesday, March 5th. The students assisted with the Blood Drive, which was conducted by Long Island Blood Services. During the drive, they gave out snacks and juice to the people who donated blood.Prior to the Blood Drive, the students in Fifth Grade heard a presentation about the importance of collecting blood due to shortages on Long Island.They were also encouraged to get people to donate blood during the drive.The Fifth Grade classes also visited the Long Island Blood Services facility and learned how blood is separated and stored.As a result of the drive, seventeen pints of blood were collected by Long Island Blood Services.Our Little Doctors would like to thank all of the people who generously gave blood and they know that your donation will be greatly appreciated by those in need of blood.
