Pre-School Graduation

On May 21, 2013, the 18 children that participated in the East Street PTA’s Pre-School program received their diplomas at a special graduation ceremony.  During the eight week program, the children completed pages in an ABC workbook, read stories, did crafts and, most importantly, had the opportunity to meet the staff here at East Street.  They went on “in-school field trips” each week to visit different places in the school.  One of the first places they visited was the Main Office where they got to meet Mrs. Serra and her office staff.  The children also visited all three Kindergarten classrooms where they met the teachers and were able to interact with the current Kindergarteners.  On each visit, Mrs. Shurley, Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Stimac read a story and the children completed a project.  They had the opportunity to visit the classrooms they will be going to in September for their “special classes.”  In the Library, Mrs. Altobello read them a story.  Mrs. Oliviero did a rainbow coloring sheet with them in Art.  Mrs. Massaro taught them a song and they got to watch a gym class being taught by Mr. Fabrizio.  Finally, they visited Mrs. Puerta in the Nurse’s Office.  Congratulations to the East Street PTA’s Class of 2013.  We look forward to seeing you in September when you start Kindergarten.
