Each school year the students in grades K-5 participate in the MAP reading assessment.  This computerized assessment is given in the Fall and again in the Spring.  The results, which are sent to parents, include their child's RIT scores in reading and a Lexile Range score.  The Lexile Range score is a measure that matches a student's reading level with books that are on the same instructional level.  The Lexile score can be very helpful to parents and teachers because the measure can be used to provide children with books that are both interesting and readable.

Below is the website that will allow you to use your child's Lexile Score to find books that reflect your childs's interest and reading level.  Reading books that are on the appropriate level will make reading an enjoyable experience for your child.
