  • Hicksville High School Winter Concert III Wows Audience

    The students playing in Hicksville High School’s Winter Concert III performed an ambitious selection of music in a wide variety of styles before a large audience at the high school. The program began with the high school wind ensemble, directed by teacher Chad Wyman, presenting a rousing rendition of John Philip Sousa’s “The Fairest of the Fair” and continued with two more upbeat selections.

    The Hicksville High School National Honor Society added 120 members to its ranks in a ceremony steeped in tradition and symbolism that was held in the school auditorium. "I hope that the pride others have in you will encourage you to achieve all that you desire to be,” said High School Principal Brijinder K. Singh in her welcome address.

  • Middle School Spelling Bee Winner Readies for Long Island Final

    Middle School student Jerry Hsiao endured sixteen rounds of intense competition to earn the title of Scripps National Spelling Bee School Champion during the final qualifying event. Jerry correctly sequenced the spelling of ‘telepathic’ to secure the victory and is advancing to the regional final at Hofstra on March 18. Schoolmate Neelay Bose placed second and will serve as an alternate for the regional competition.
