Hicksville High School is proud to announce the top two students for the Class of 2025. Congratulations to valedictorian Kailash Thayavally and salutatorian Mandeep Kaur. Both have contributed significantly inside and outside of their school community.
Kailash is a member of several honor societies including, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Social Studies Honor Society, Science National Honor Society. He is the Vice President of the school’s Science National Honor Society and President of the Science Olympiad club and an avid member of the robotics team. Outside of school, he has shadowed physicians, researched multiple sclerosis and has cofounded a nonprofit organization based on teaching STEM to students called NextGenInspires.
Mandeep is active in several societies including the Thespian Honor Society and holds an officer position as Tech Chair, a member of the National Honor Society and is currently the Corresponding Secretary, Secretary of the National English Honor Society as well as a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Math Honor Society and Social Studies Honor Society. Additionally, she is involved in numerous school clubs including the International Outreach Club, FBLA and Astronomy Club. For the last four years, she has been the Class of 2025 Treasurer. Among her many out of school activities, she volunteers every Sunday at her Community Religious Center and works with students in grades 3-9 at a local tutoring center.
