“Hopes and Love” to start the new school year!

On Thursday, August 29, 2019, the Rotary Club of Hicksville South held a ceremony for their annual backpack distribution. “Backpacks Filled with Hopes and Love” was this year’s message. The Rotary distributed 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to local school districts and community organizations. Hicksville Public Schools received 100 backpacks to distribute to needy students. Mrs. Marianne Litzman, Superintendent of Schools, attended with Dr. John Comer, Principal of Burns Avenue. Mrs. Litzman thanked the Rotary for their generosity and the opportunity for students to begin their new school year filled with hope and a “tool box” necessary for success!
