Our Souper Bowl of Caring - Cans of Soup and Boxes of Cereal Needed

The Souper Bowl has come to OCR!

After the winter holidays, many food pantries and soup kitchens run out of food to feed the hungry.

To help our food pantries, the Old Country Road School Student Council, with the help of Mrs. Simon, is holding a “Souper Bowl of Caring” food drive from Monday, January 30th to Friday, Friday, February 3rd.  The food that is collected will be donated to our Hicksville Boys and Girls Club located on Old Country Road near the Middle School.

To make donating food more fun, food donations from Kindergarten through 2nd grades will be put into a green ”Carolina Panthers” box and students in grades 3 through 5 will put their donations into a blue “Denver Broncos” box.  Cans of soup will be counted as a “field goal” item, worth 2 points, and boxes of cereal, which count as a “touch down” item, are worth 7 points.

Thank you to all the students and their families who will participate. Last year a total of more than 200 food items were donated to help people in need. Let's try to break that record!
