Home to School Connection
Strengthening the home to school connection is essential to the academic success of all children. The Hicksville Public Schools is committed to maintaining open lines of communication between parents and their child’s teachers. In order to foster greater communication options in our wired world, parents are now able to email their child’s teachers.
Teachers email addresses generally follow a first initial and full last name pattern. For example Mr. John Smith would be email@example.com however, exceptions do occur. Please visit your child’s school webpage where you will find a link to all teacher email addresses. Further, in the “For Parents” section of the district webpage is a link to the “Email Directory.”
What can parents expect?
- A timely response to your email. Teachers will generally respond to your email within 24 hours and during normal school hours.
- A request for a follow up conversation. Email is a tool best used for information which would not be considered confidential. Teachers may request to call you or schedule a meeting to discuss sensitive information.
