ESSER/GEER/ARP

The 2021-22 enacted state budget includes language requiring local education agencies, such as school districts that receive funding from the Federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER), Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund (GEER) and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP) to post on its website a plan of how these funds will be spent. New York has been allocated nearly $9 billion in ARP- ESSER funds, with a minimum of $8.09 billion (90 percent) going to local education agencies, including public schools. 

Hicksville has been allocated $4,965,776 under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations ACT (CRRSA).  GEER - $494,813 and ESSER - $4,470,963. We submitted the application by the June 15 deadline.  The deadline was extended to June 30 and the New York State Education Department (NYSED) reviewer has informed the district that we received a revised ESSER 2 allocation with an increase of $1,174. The district is working with the reviewer to revise the application.

ESSER - 4,399,776 - Inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, replacement, and upgrade projects to improve the indoor air quality in school facilities, including mechanical and non-mechanical heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, filtering, purification and other air cleaning, fans, control systems, and window and door repair and replacement.

ARP - ESSER
 
The ARP-ESSER allocation is $4,013,014 with a minimum of 20% dedicated to learning loss - $802,603.
