RISE Program

RISE Program

Hicksville Public Schools offers the RISE Program to identified high achieving students in grades 3-5. Elementary Library Media Specialists serve as RISE teachers using their expertise in research, inquiry based learning and a variety of resources to develop an enriched grade level curriculum for the high achieving child.

The RISE Program is structured to stimulate and develop the natural intellectual potential of high achieving students as well as to offer a variety of opportunities for expression within an environment that is academic challenging and encourages creative thinking.

Recently, our 5th grade RISE students participated in the "Human Rights Public Service Announcement Contest," sponsored by NYSUT and the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. The purpose of this contest is to increase students' understanding of basic human rights and encourage action among elementary students. Click on the links below to view our 5th grade student entries.
