Hicksville High School is proud to announce that eight seniors Samantha Castro, Andrew Fontanetta, Federico Garcia, Brian Jaco, Anthony Lopez, Victoria Rodriguez, Danna Taboada and Cory Wright were selected for the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP). Like the National Merit Scholarship program, the NHRP recognizes Hispanic/Latino students for their academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT.

NHRP eligibility requires that students take the PSAT/NMSQT during their sophomore or junior year, identify as Hispanic American or Latino, achieve the required PSAT Selection Index score and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. In the end, less than 2% of high school juniors in the country meet the criteria to be selected for this honor.

The district congratulates Samantha, Andrew, Federico, Brian, Anthony, Victoria,
Danna and Cory and wishes them continued success.
