Students at Dutch Lane Elementary School in Hicksville enjoyed an unforgettable visit on Feb. 9 as they welcomed author Justin Colón, creator of The Quacken. The book is a humorous, lightly spooky picture story about a young boy who unknowingly unleashes a ferociously fuzzy creature at his campground.
Mr. Colón delivered a high-energy, engaging presentation filled with laughter that captivated students from beginning to end. Through storytelling insights and behind-the-scenes inspiration, he brought the world of The Quacken to life, leaving students curious, inspired, and eager to read more.
