Burns Avenue Runs for Fun and Gives Back

In celebration of the recent New York City Marathon, Burns Avenue Elementary School in Hicksville held its “Annual Mini Marathon” on Oct. 29.  The elementary school race took place around the school’s back field, encouraging students to get moving and get their hearts pumping. Students and some family members joined the fun, while others cheered from the sidelines along the makeshift course.

A fun addition to this year’s event, several teachers kicked off the race in inflatable costumes before the official start, bringing laughter, excitement, and plenty of cheers from the students.

The event also collected donations for the School District’s Food Pantry.
